Definition

The number of demerits that a participant has accrued that are currently valid. A demerit is a penalty given to a participant for committing a mutual obligation failure without providing a valid reason for that failure's occurrence. Demerits are active for 6 commenced months, after which they individually expire. If a participant’s Contract referral placement status is changed to paused or pending, their demerit's lifespan will also be paused until their status changes back to commenced.
