Definition
A count of participants who were in service in the Workforce Australia Services program at the data extraction date, disaggregated by participant employment region, cohort and allowance group.
Workforce Australia Services is the service provided through an Employment Services Provider to individuals who require more intensive support to find a job. Providers will guide individuals to manage their participation in Workforce Australia Services, including helping them to understand how to use the Points Based Activation System (PBAS), and supporting them to meet their mutual obligation requirements.
Indicator Summary
A total count of participants who were in service in Workforce Australia Services at the data extraction date, as calculated by counting participant identifiers with:
- a related contract referral placement that has a contract type of 'PRO6' (Workforce Australia Services), and
- a placement status code value of 'PND' (Pending), 'COM' (Commenced) or 'SUS' (Paused).

A total count of participants who were in service in Workforce Australia Services at the data extraction date, as calculated by counting participant identifiers with:
- a related contract referral placement that has a contract type of 'PRO6' (Workforce Australia Services), and
- a placement status code value of 'PND' (Pending), 'COM' (Commenced) or 'SUS' (Paused).
A contract referral placement is the instance of a participant establishing a service relationship with a provider's site within an employment region for a specific employment service program. They are used in combination with participant identifiers for this count as a participant may have a pending placement in one program while currently commenced in another and therefore can be counted as 'in service' in more than one program at a time.
