Workforce Australia and ParentsNext Caseload Time Series - October 2022 Onwards

Definition

A set of indicators that describe the Workforce Australia Caseload Data Time Series report. The report provides a snapshot of how many participants were in service at the end of each calendar month from October 2022 onwards to allow for trend analysis across participant cohorts.

Workforce Australia commenced operationally on 4 July 2022 and is the front door for Australian Government employment and skills services delivered by the department, helping Australians to find and keep a job, change jobs or create their own job, connecting employers with individuals, and a network of providers to deliver intensive and individualised case management.

Workforce Australia comprises the number of unique participants in Workforce Australia Services, Workforce Australia Online and Transition to Work.

ParentsNext is an employment service program that supports parents and carers who receive Parenting Payment to plan and prepare for work by the time their youngest child starts school. This support includes help with developing skills, training or work experience, help arranging financial support for job preparation skills, training and other work-related expenses or connecting to local support services such as counselling.

Confidentiality                                                                                        

In order to protect individuals' privacy, all cells within the table have been rounded to the nearest 5. This may result in non-additivity for some totals. Zero cells are actual zeros.

Caseload Count                                                                                        

Counts are the number of unique participants (based on jobseeker ID) on the caseload of each program.

Cohorts                                                                                        

Cohorts are not mutually exclusive; an individual may belong to multiple cohorts. Due to the small number of participants belonging to some cohorts within different caseloads, some cohorts are not presented for all programs.                                                

Workforce Australia Caseload                                                                                        

Workforce Australia caseload (as recorded on the Workforce Australia Overall tab) is the number of unique participants across three programs - Workforce Australia Online, Workforce Australia Services and Transition to Work. Totals from each program will not sum to the overall caseload totals as a participant can be on multiple caseloads at the same time (e.g. pending in Workforce Australia Services and commenced in Workforce Australia Online).                                                                     

Education Groupings                                                                                        

Due to a number of individuals whose education level is not specified, the sum of the three education groupings may not add up to the total number of participants.

Workforce Australia and ParentsNext Caseload terms:                                

Participant data is drawn from a number of sources, mainly Services Australia Registration data and the Job Seeker Snapshot (JSS) response relating to their most recent registration with Employment Services. Age and registration period are updated automatically, while other details may be updated when an individual’s circumstances change. However, some information for some individuals may no longer be current, especially if they have not updated their JSS recently.                                                                                        

For participants who are on the caseload, data is accurate as at the reference date for the data extract provided. Items that rely on self-disclosure may be underestimated.
